FOLKS OF DIVINITY

A divinity folk school designed to set you further on your path of service

Are you longing to be of service to the creation of a more beautiful world?

Do you have a vision of how you want to do that but you

Have you found it hard to muster up the discipline and focus to devote yourself?

You’re not alone!

We are not meant to do it alone.

And maybe, just maybe, we don’t need higher education to learn.

Maybe all we need is a group of loving individuals, learning alongside us.

Together, we are remembering our ancestral roots of tending the Earth, how to nourish ourselves with food from the garden, how to work together, find belonging in community
and be in service to something greater than ourselves.

The Story

For a long time I’ve been longing for a teacher, longing for a lineage to devote myself to, something to hold the container for my spiritual growth, something to support me being in service in the ways I know I came to this Earth for. I’ve struggled with devotion to my personal practices and wondered if a teacher, a program or a degree would help me commit and show up in the way that I know I’m being asked to.

For years, I looked into program after program, scouring the internet for priestess trainings, certification programs, and masters of divinity program. One day, a beloved sister suggested to me the idea of me making my own curriculum “What if you created your own masters of divinity program? You could make your own curriculum and study what you want to study?”

I liked the idea — saving 10s of thousands of dollars, reclaiming my sovereignty and power as a learner from the academic system, and making something that's more resonant for myself than anything I have found so far.

But! I didn’t feel I was capable of holding that container for myself, knowing that at times I struggle with discipline and structure. And then in a moment of praying and meditating in a Mother Council ceremony, I received a gift from the Mystery to hold group space for a program called Folks of Divinity. And you are invited!

“My experience was beautiful, bountiful and profound. I loved learning from Maayan and Scotty as they are both compassionate heartfelt teachers who care for all, and put in the tremendous effort, planning the day and balancing the work with the workshops. I learn a tremendous amount about food, seeds, planting, weeding, harvesting, composting, food preservation from March-November, all with love, gratitude and reciprocity with Mother Earth. The experiences of connecting with like-hearted beings on deep levels while gardening together enriched my soul and life.”

☀ Facilitator Team ☀

There are no gurus in this space, just people who are learning like you.

Maayan Chelsea Greenheart (she/they) is a mother of two beautiful children, a child of the Earth and a devotee of the Divine Mother. She tends an abundant garden where she lives at SunSong, a land-based community that she helped co-found 7 years ago. She is a ritualist, song carrier, kitchen witch, and loves to create spaces for people to connect deeply to themselves, the Earth and each other.

Maayan is a devoted gardener of flowers, food and medicine. For the past five years she has been cultivating a practice of giving flower blessings to mark and honor thresholds that we humans cross in this life.

Her facilitation style is grounded, connective and personal. She has a genuine curiosity and love for people and values creating spaces that are welcoming, honest, and safe.

Full of aliveness and connected to her emotions, Maayan embodies & inspires celebration of life’s miracles while holding space for the grief that comes with honoring the tragedies of our times. She is here to support our collective healing & the remembering of the sacredness of life.

She's human...has good days and bad days, feels all kinds of emotions, and makes mistakes.
And she's committed to growing, like the rose.

“There are not enough words to fully display my admiration for Maayan and Scotty. When I first entered this program I was extremely skeptical. As a person of color I am always skeptical of ritualistic led by white groups. I’m happy I stuck with it. This space emboldened me to embrace myself in a world that has always tried to make me smaller. This program taught me that how I show up is never too much. I also learned a lot about growing a range of foods, but ultimately the interpersonal growth I experienced here has changed my life. Thank you ”
